Our new short-format, evening workshop at the FabLab London is a great opportunity for those can’t make (or afford) the 2-day workshop to learn more about Design Thinking!
In this workshop, you’ll learn what Human Centred Design (HCD) is and how it can help you develop new products and services that people are willing to engage with, pay for and promote. You’ll also get hands-on experience applying HCD methods that will enable you to:
- Understand the ecosystem of people involved with creating, delivering and using a product or service
- Build empathy for others
- Generate ideas that meet real needs
- Collaborate effectively
- Communicate ideas compellingly
Who is it for?
Anybody who wants to learn more about how to design products, services and experiences driven by the needs, desires, and contexts of people, including designers, researchers, marketers, engineers, product managers and human-resource professionals.
What to bring?
An open mind. And a notebook if you like to take notes, but this will be a very interactive (standing up, working in small teams) session, so there won’t be much time for sitting and writing. We will provide light refreshments (snacks, coffee, tea, juice), but feel to bring something more substantial to eat (or drink) if you like.
About the organisers
Heather McQuaid and Maeve Keane have more than 30 years’ experience in the design industry and have run innovation workshops and events for many top-tier organisations including Levi’s, Nestle, Samsung, Carlsberg, Electrolux, Jaguar Land Rover and British Telecom. They have joined forces to launch Future Tonic, a consulting and training agency that shows organisations how to innovate – reliably, repeatedly and with reduced risk – by applying a human-centred approach to design.
